Disaster management

In the event of an impending disaster – such as flooding, fire or extreme drought – governments have to make difficult decisions in a stressful situation. It is then important to have continuous insight into the current risks for the area. This includes information about the nature of the threat, information about possible scenarios and the consequences of these scenarios.

HKV develops instruments with which governments can make the right decisions in crisis situations. An example of this is Continuous Insight. Smart monitoring and calculation models are used to analyse the current situation of flood defences. The manager can see how high the risk is and where the weak spots are so that he or she can take targeted measures.
