The World Bank Board approved the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) project: a 200 Million US$ project to improve flood risk management in Accra, the capital of Ghana.
HKV was the leader of a consortium (including Accra-based consultants ACON, Ecorys (NL) and Bosch+Slabbers (NL)) which supported the World Bank with the preparation of this project. Read more
Flooding in Bosnia Herzegovina is almost a recurring phenomenon. In May 2019 our colleague Job Udo was in Bosnia for the inception workshop related to the EU project "Implementation of a Flood Early Warning System (FEWS) for the Bosna river".
Job visited Bosnia earlier in a DRR mission as a response to the devastating floods in May 2014. In the beginning of 2019 the EU commissioned our consortium (with lead partner Eptisa, the Water Institute in Bijeljina and HKV) to develop FEWS Bosna. Read more
HKV has started the development of a flood forecasting system for Alexandria, Egypt. This project is carried out under the FDW project (Fonds Duurzaam Water) "Anticipatory Flood Management in Alexandria, Egypt (AFMA)" in cooperation with IHE Delft, Holding Co. for Water and Wastewater (HCWW), Alexandria University, Montaser General Contractors Co., GRID - Group of Integrated Design and Alexandria Business Association.
