Working together on improved flood resilience in Zambezia province, Mozambique

On behalf of the Netherlands government, in April 2024 a team of Dutch Risk Reduction & Surge support (DRRS) visited the Zambézia province in Mozambique to work with local stakeholders on a vision to improve flood resilience. Our colleague Joana Vieira da Silva was one of the DRRS team members, supporting development of the vision with her knowledge and skills in geographical information and functioning of the water system. The created vision was presented in week 30 (July 24, 2024) to participants and local authorities. In the picture the report is handed to the mayor of Quelimane by other team member Peter Letitre (Deltares).
