HKV develops a Flood Early Warning System (FEWS) for the Sakumono basin in the Greater Accra Region in Ghana. That is an area that suffers from annual flooding during heavy rain. Dorien Lugt, together with representatives of the National Disaster Management Organization, visited the most flood-prone areas and key drainage points.
This will help develop a flood model that will help the government to respond earlier to expected floods.
